I have been really excited to share this recipe I developed for mynaturalfamily.com with all of you! Why? Oh, you know. Just a few mildly awesome reasons…like the fact that it containes only FOUR ingredients. And is totally sugar free. And can be made in a snap in your blender. It uses coconut milk, so it is almost dairy-free, besides the butter used to caramelize the bananas. If you needed to omit the butter, a dairy free sub would work in its place.

The recipe uses half caramalized bananas, and half plain bananas. The plain bananas give the ice cream it’s creamy texture, since caramelizing them alters the consistency of the banana a bit. The caramelized bananas bring out the banana flavor, as well as upping the sweetness so that you don’t need to add sugar or honey.

There is a little prep involved. The bananas need to be frozen(both the plain and caramelized) the night before you make it, or at least 8 hours prior. After they are frozen, its blend, blend, blend and you are in business! A high speed blender works the best for this, but a food processor would work as well.

This looks insanely good! We can’t keep enough bananas here and I love the idea of using them for the flavoring. Really can’t wait to give this a try, so easy!
