This Smoked & Spicy Pomegranate Margarita is my ode to January…a month where I desperately need a little color and spice!
Mezcal is my favorite, right up there with Gin. Smoked Tequilas are not only for the warm months, in my life…I like to use them through all seasons in all sorts of applications.
A margarita is always an easy way to use it, so my cocktail on repeat this January is this Smoked & Spicy Pomegranate Margarita.
Since mezcal is a smoked tequila, there is no need for additional smoking, it’s all in the spirit. Del Maguey Vida is my personal favorite.
Ancho Reyes is a chili liquor that I’m fond of. You can use any pepper-infused liquor but I like the Ancho Reyes because it adds an earthy element that compliments the mezcal.
We’re on a bit of a Cappelletti kick right now, but if you can’t find it, Aperol will work well in it’s place.
The color of this cocktail is stunning, so serve it in a glass with a lot of surface area =)
