We just moved and I have to admit that one of the saddest things for me about leaving was having to take down my fall mantel.
I left it until the very last second. I mean, LITERALLY. It was the last thing I packed.
I’ve LOVED having a mantel to decorate and I will just have to do with out one for awhile.
Wreath- I made the wreath by cutting out leaves from kraft paper and folding them in half. Then I hot glued them to a foam wreath. Easy Peasy.
Pumpkins- I bought cheap Walmart plastic pumpkins and spray painted them. Then I hand pained the arrow and herringbone designs on with some acrylic paint.
Bunting- I followed this tutorial from ellaclaireinspired.com. Isn’t the printed burlap great?(from Joann’s, by the way)
Chalkboard- I made this super cheap chalkboard(I’m talkin $2 cheap) with leftover plywood that I sanded and sprayed with chalkboard paint. The frame was made with leftover wood shims with a walnut stain. Chalkboard paint pen was used for the text(don’t look TOO closely, calligraphy is not my forte!) originally penned by the lovely Emily Bronte.
Goodbye, fall mantel.
I hope to meet you again next year.
xoxoxo
